Are you going to trade your SLV for GLD after the ratio is arround 1:20 or so?

(I am talking about the Metals)

I'll either trade it for gold, or for fiat to immediately purchase real estate.

This could happen if confidence in the USD gets any lower;)

Noticed the ratio is getting lower, was actually thinking about that. Not sure I'd want to give up my silver though! Shoot, I'll just load up on gold. :D

with a ratio like that, I will sell my silver and buy real estate

real estate and bonds will be the end game for me

or paying off student loans . . . but i've got 30yrs locked in at a great rate on those

so most likely, property and bonds

Property is awesome, but you forget the taxing authority will increase what you owe them anytime they need more money to spend...it's already way too much tax on property...

you simply can't go wrong with PM's...once you own em...they aren't taxed unless you sell em...and then only if you have to go thru a dealer is forced to show a transaction...if he has to borrow what he pays you from a line of credit...he'll create "the record".

The game is changing...

Bonds are a bubble about to burst.

Alliteration much?

Let me guess, Silver up 4%, Gold down 1%. That is a hard choice.

my silver probably wouldn't survive a 30:1 ratio . . . at that point i'd feel compelled to swap out i think

Are you assuming gold will drop in value to $400 to get your 1:20? ;)

Trade Silver for Palladium? Palladium is kicking butt. GG will get you in before it hits $600.

Depends on your age I think. If you're young, stick with silver; the long-term potential is MUCH greater than in gold IMO. If older, switch to gold, as it's obviously much less volatile.

bonds aren't for now

but their time will come

unless you think this time it really is different

which i don't. the numbers will be bigger is all. end result will be the same. my kid will still go to college. i'll still retire some day.

high yields in an obviously stabilizing environment will move me out of gold pretty quickly. but so would other things. ridiculous housing lows. a killer business opportunity. the chance to zero-out a student loan balance.

just turn your metal into something tangible and you'll have come out a winner.
