This forum is very helpful to me, a pm beginner.

What is the feeling about a "good" / "wise" ratio of gold: silver holding?

I have 100 Oz silver, and 2/10 oz Gold.

Until September I was 100% gold when I went to (value wise) 2:1 gold:silver. Kinda wish now I'd gone 1:1, but maybe not. Who knows what's best? I like the smaller denomination of ag, but the easy portability/security of au. Both sides can be argued ad infinitum and are regularly here.

In dollar value, I like 50/50.

I am 24 to 1 silver ounces to gold ounces

always thought the gold to silver ratio of 60 plus was not sustainable so put a lot of money in silver, even though it is bulkier to store.

money value though at today's prices is

AG: 24 times 24 bucks per ounce = 576 dollars
AU: 1 times 1370 bucks per ounce = 1370 dollars

so it is 1370 to 576 or about 2.4 to 1 (gold value in holdings vs silver value in holdings)

I agree that both sides of the argument can make sense ... so to each his own...

I think silver will go higher (percentage wise) than gold, thus the high number of silver ounces I own

If the GSR goes to 15 or 20, then I might think about re-balancing.

I buy a little silver and a little gold every few weeks, even now.

Somewhere around 80:1
I don't have much gold at all, but I hope to do some swapping
when/if it gets to a 40 GSR.

long term, i think a 70% gold 30% silver (cash value) ratio is prudent on average

right now i'm closer to 50/50 though

300:1 silver silver silver oi oi oi

Although according to the 3stages of a bull market in which gold is ahead, I think it's possible gold will go parabolic first so reap greater rewards initially however I'm in the camp of those who are speculating that when silver goes KABOOOM it will greatly outperform gold. I if you like trading maybe get more gold with a view to buying more silver between take offs although this is pure guess work and not for me plus gsr is reducing not increasing so maybe I'm just talking rubbish... back to my silver buying.... bye!

At the present moment I am 100% delved into silver. Mind you I started purchasing PM's 2 weeks ago and am 35 Ozt strong. I will continue to purchase silver nearly every week adding roughly 15-20 ASE's to my stack. As far as gold is concerened, I am awaiting a pullback within the next week or two to purchase 2x 1 Ozt GAE's. If there is not a pullback I will pull the trigger regardless. Very exciting time to jump into the world of PM's!

54 Slivers per 1 oz of Gold. 75% of my money spent on PM has been towards gold, however the 25% of my money which has been for silver has given me the biggest return
Started stacking heavily during the crash of 08

Here is a snapshot of gains percentage since 08 :)

Gold- 7%
Silver- 73.79%
Platinum- 38.87%
Palladium- 120.44%

For an overall gain of 33%

2.5:1 (Ag:Au) in terms of quantity

Mainly bought 2001-2003, topped up a little more silver in 2008, not as much as I would have liked though and considering whether to offload some Au to change the balance of those ratios.

Well after doing my own diligence and researching for over four years....it was a no brainer for me....I'm 100% in silver now, shed my handful of ounces in gold for silver. I will not buy gold...ever...never....well, wait a second, I guess I would buy gold once the G/S ratio gets around 1:20 or less.

Show me one special thing Gold can do that Silver can't do and do better?

...bunch of nutcases invested fully in gold touting a 1:60 ratio as normal. As dumb as saying ...oh, they'll just dig deeper for silver. not. These nuts only like gold cause it denser weight to value storage...wait until silver has it's dreamy day in the 2020's where it rises $60. to $90. in a day....slamzation!!!
