I have a set of 24 proof 1 oz silver 1989 Space coins from the Marshall Islands. Any idea if these are worth more than melt? One of the negatives is the coins do not say .999 or the weight. Thanks for your replies.

as a general rule private mint coins have no numis value above melt. these sound like something the Franklin Mint would make. the weight is easy to check. a lot of these type issues are .925, try to research

found Provident Coins (google) show those and similar coins. if $50.00 coin it's 1troy oz. of .999-maybe print it out, have your own COA.

In Krause 2010 ($12.50-15 Silver Oz price)
The coins are valued at (Fine condition)
89 Proof:18.50/89S Proof:16.50 for Shuttle Discover & First Men on the Moon.
Everything else is 89 Proof:27.50/89S Proof:23,50

So yes they are worth more than melt.
