Hmmm his point about government coins being government property and therefore more prone to 'legal' confiscation... Any truth to that argument?
I would think if it comes down to confiscation, they'll be going after it be it bar or coin.

If the US ever pulls an Egypt, I will have massive respect.
As it stands now, I'm mostly saddened at all the lines being crossed that are easily grounds for riots, and nothing happens. The list of 'legitimate breaking points' has been huge in the last years. Really wondering what the breaking point will be, looking like whatever it is will be far too late.

Can someone expound on the significance of the near-zero contango? I've read up on contango/backwardation but I am not following how a futures price that is not higher than the current price translates into heavy demand for immediate delivery. And is this really the first time this has happened? It seems pretty significant ... but I'm not sure why ...:o TIA.

Here are a couple of articles on backwardation, some on kitco do a good job as well, whereas some make it not to be a big deal but it is:

I would think if it comes down to confiscation, they'll be going after it be it bar or coin.

My feelings are this:

- When it happened in the 30's for gold, apparently something like only one person was prosecuted for not turning in their gold or some extemely low number like that

- it would happen to gold before silver

- if this happens to gold and especially silver the government will have much bigger problems on their hands

- bottom line is I'm not worried about it and there are ways of getting around it if you are, like always paying cash and giving no personal info upon point of purchase, buying generic rounds, foreign rounds

- the benefits of having some physical silver outweigh the risks

I have fake silver quarters, halves and dollars that are spot on weight and non-magnetic. Same for fake gold Kruggerands and bars. I know that they would fool 95% of people, myself included.

I posted this and pictures and all I got was 'dude try a magnet.'. That's stupid - they will not stick to a magnet.

But, some guy makes some cartoon bears and some think it's gospel. These bear videos prophesise a lot of doom, gloom, conspiracy, and fear mongering. They cite no sources, and are animated. Sheeh!

Whatever ...

This. The gov't is bribing the people. Who is going to riot when the gov't is saving everyone? Who is going to riot when 45 million are on foodstamps, everyone even illegals get education for "free", and various other treats are passed out? The citizens are in debt to our great and kind gov't, and what happens to the mouth that bites the feeding hand....?

Our comfort right now is being subsidized by the gov't printing machine.

Those bears have lost some credibility with me ...

The bears cartoon can be made by anybody, it' open. I think the bears are great-forces one to analyze the message instead of trusting the mouth that it comes from. How many lean on gurus for thinking?

shut the internet off and i think they might wake up or cut the tv off, maybe they'll wake up from the daze they're in.

Internet was the last hope, IMO. Teevee is mindless drivel for the masses that has been pre-approved for the airwaves. Internet has broke that grip, as the big media companies are finding out.

true statement. How ever not every one who owns scales is a crack dealer.

I think if anyone is even mildly serious about owning silver and gold coins they should at least own a cheap electronic scales

"Those bears have lost some credibility with me ..."

Agree.

They said 90% of the bars out there, (in Central Banks anyway), are counterfeit with tungsten cores.

OK, that's a lot.

But what got me was the conference call references.

OUT THERE WAY OUT THERE.

=============

The Bears had different voices.

The old guys dropped out because they thought the conference call was OUT THERE WAY OUT THERE.

the entire moneytrust and their shills/coatail sniffers. they come in and discredit everything with experts, ect...

You have no case. I wasn't aware that in media the delivery medium could affect the content.

However, I must say that when you analyze the content on it's own merits it would seem to need more evidence to be credible.

Decent scales are inexpensive and easy to get. You don't even have to be a crack dealer! Even the cheap scales will read close enough to detect most counterfeits. By the way, I got a couple of fake quarters in a roll of "silver" the other day. They weigh about 1.2 grams less that the real ones.

True, the bears bathroom humor is starting to work against their message. Shame, because they do have a message.
