Could this be a factor?...

"Asian Buyers Redeeming Physical Silver from SLV Exchange Traded Fund"

http://news.coinupdate.com/asian-buyers-redeeming-physical-silver-from-slv-exchange-traded-fund-0685/

"...sources of inside information stated in an interview a couple days ago that Asian buyers are having such great difficulty locating physical silver to purchase that they are now purchasing shares of the SLV silver exchange traded fund (ETF)"

That article also suggests that SLV silver might be leased out, which isn't the case. Not only is it against the prospectus, it would show up in the bar list (when bars are leased, different bars are returned).

However, if/when this rumor comes to fruition, we'll see signs of it (as silver leaves SLV, which we find out the day it happens).

I'd say definitely a Yahoo glitch... SLV has a pretty active message board there, and people would often complain about not being able to post on it from time to time (it would clear up after a few minutes / hours). I used to read those boards when I was invested in SLV last year (know better now).

Funny that GDX and PSLV are down over there, too - thankfully, Yahoo doesn't have brokerage services :p

Yahoo doesn't list or de-list anything. That is what the exchanges do.

Plant guy, I know reading comprehension is not your strong suit... so I pulled up some of the many definitions of DELIST for you:

http://www.searchenginecity.org/seo-glossary/
delisting - When Web pages are removed from a search engine's index

http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/delist
to delist - To remove from an official register or list

Yes, there's some sort of database error at finance.yahoo. It happened once already over the past weekend. I've got specific portfolios created there, to help me keep an eye on various sectors. All of them -- all the securities I'm watching -- have "vanished."

They're still in business. Zecco online displays quotes and charts for them as before.

This is a Yahoo problem.

Yahoo problem - SLV alive and well here (http://www.marketwatch.com/investing/fund/slv).

You may continue on your regularly scheduled paranoia schduled program.

Indeed... it was a Yahoo phenomenon...

I mainly started this thread to Document their "problem" and to get Confirmation from others. Mission accomplished on both fronts.

These shenanigans seem to happen in the MSM whenever precious metals are on the move. By documenting these incidents, we leave the MSM less wiggle room to play games the next time.

Thanks to everyone who took a moment to verify.
