Awww, now where's the fun in that? But have no fear, our ever enterprising distributors will find a way to make an extra buck off of us.
Our authorized purchasers have expressed interest in [picking up the coins at a San Francisco location]

So you think it's because they want to save Uncle Sam the hassle of delivering them? Or, so they can mark them as coming from SF and of course have an enhanced premium?

I thought they had used the S.F. mint before as mentioned by the link so you would think it would be easy to restart production. the govt. has to make everything hard. and no there will be no mintmark, wasn't one before and won't be one now-right in the link. new thought. now I see your point, the direct buyers want to pick them up so they can sell sealed tubes "certified" as S.F. coins for more $$. Maybe that's why the mint doesn't want to let them.

If there is no mintmark then about the only way to be sure it is from SF is to have an unopened monster box from them, still in its shipping box.

Really though, it is a bullion coin, it will not end up like a Carson City morgan.
