In 1968 I worked at a gas station and gas was 25 cents a gallon.

Today gas is roughly $4 a gallon. It hurts to fill my truck up!

If you sold your 90% Silver coins at the average Silver price this week it would cost about 12.5 Silver cents to buy a gallon of gas today! That means gas is half as expensive as it was in 1968 compared with Silver prices today?

I know, sell my Silver and buy gas.

Does that mean gas should be $8 gallon?

I've used the same analogy - Price of Gas in Silver terms. I hate to say it but, yes, Gas should be $7.25 a Gallon for the ratio to maintain. To further your Question, a Pack of Smokes was also a Silver Quarter...I know that taxes vary from State to State but where I live, Smokes are $7.75 so the approximate ratio of Silver to Tobacco still holds...a Silver Quarter still buys a Pack of Butts..(Almost..).
