Here's an interesting link to the NY Fed gold vault.

According to the information from the NY Fed, their gold vault contains about 7,000 metric tons of gold.

I think the NY Fed has the ultimate gold stack ......... lol.

Please take note of the quote about gold from Charles de Gaulle ......... interesting, right?

Here's the link the NY Fed gold vault info .........

It seems you can take a tour of their gold vault.

Has anyone ever gone on the gold vault tour?

Thanks .........

Strange as it seems, the Gatagoons (http://www.gata.org/node/9980) missed this vital piece of information.

They also missed the acknowledgement by the Fed that they don't own it.
Page one (http://www.newyorkfed.org/education/addpub/goldvault.pdf), (if they had bothered).

In spite of their denial before congress.
The Fed does have claim to a substantial cache of gold.
It resides with the treasury, and appears on the Fed balance sheet.

back in 1963, just after High School, I got a small job in the printing / copy room @ JP Morgan... one day a older man who worked in Check Clearing dept needed someone to roll the box of Checks up to the Fed Bank , (about a block+ away) and they never went alone. So, I had to go with him, and once inside (at age 18 ) I got to see parts of the Fed... in the lower area... (It's been a longtime ago, hard to remember all details). I was taken to a bright light white room with bars on the doors, and what I thought was a guard sitting in front of me, was a mirror, at a 45 angle to check us. with a shotgun (not sure but looked like shotgun).... inside was small carts with some gold bullion on it......Back then at age 18, Gold was not on my mind, At 18, I was checking the babes that worked upstairs in the bank. I use to made cpoies for them FREE...

No, it belongs to the Treasury.

yes, i took the tour while on a trip to the fed while in college. and it is truly mind-boggling!!!!!
the security there and all around it is very impressive (guys with machine guns out on the street, steel pillars rising up from the ground where the armored trucks roll into the place...etc)
you go through various metal detectors, they confiscate cameras/cell phones...etc. you take a looong elevator ride down to the vaults. you see the actual vault door and its huuuuuge. then you see these rooms/cages with stacks and stacks of gold bars everywhere. the workers there walk around with steel shoes...not steel tipped, actual steel shoes, (they look like steel crocs) so they wont drop the gold bars onto their feet.
if anyone is ever in NYC i HIGHLY recommend taking the tour.
