I was thinking about getting some of the state quarter silver proof sets & I wanted to be a little educated on them before I start.

What is the silver content & the weight of them ?

Also, did they make just PROOF silver sets, or proof and non-proof silver sets ?

Thanks in advance

thanks for the info & not so much for the smart @$$ crack at the end

I'm not above asking for help, considering I've seen some places list them as pure silver & also that I've seen them with the 10% copper, which was odd for me, since I thought the tone would have not been so bright

anyway, Silver isnt my thing, so thanks for the reply

The 90% silver is the same composition as pre-1965 US coinage. They are also offered in Cu-Ni Proof versions, which are also very nice. But, if you look at the Ag and at the Cu-Ni Proofs the difference in color is very clear.
