My LCS pays .03 for wheat's. They pay nothing for memorials through 1982. You should also be looking for key dates. I occasionally find collection grade coins.

Capital losses do offset capital gains, but you can show up to a $3000 loss on the front side of one's 1040. Anything in excess of that can be carried over to the next year.
