Question Kitco "Trust chain" for gold, silver, etc?

Some websites talk about a trust chain where the seller may require storage of the material at a trusted secured site to avoid assaying fees. If the buyer decides to have it shipped to them directly, the chain is broken and a potentially expensive re-assaying process is required to sell the material back.

On Kitco's website, I can only find a reference to a trust chain for rhodium sponge, but nothing for gold and silver. Other various websites appear to require a trust chain for those also.

So, is the trust chain not required for gold and silver purchased from Kitco? If so, then is there some specific reason it is not required?

I want to make sure I understand this correctly before I spend any money. I would not want to buy a small amount of gold and have it sent to me, and then discover I have to spend more than the value of what I paid for the PM in the first place, to sell it back later.

Bars with well-regarded hallmarks are presumed to be authentic, ditto coins.
